The Moderne Saint Germain Hotel, the California Saint Germain Hotel, and the younger Hotel du Commerce are all located in a pocket-size corner of the very heart of Paris: a district nicknamed “Latin Quarter.”

Today this Left Bank district is bustling with activity: quaint shops and bookstores, appetizing bakeries and delis, lively sidewalk cafés, a typical farmers market, numerous old churches and houses, as well as locals and tourists of all ages. Truly a remarkable area, one of the most remarkable I know in Paris.

In fact, if you elect to be my hotel guest, you will be amazed at how close to everything you are. Notre Dame cathedral and the River Seine are but a walk away, the Saint Germain des Pres area just 15 minutes from here on foot, not to mention the nearby Luxembourg Gardens, the old Marais district, the riches of the Louvre museum. A prime location, I assure you.
