Here is an address which has become incredibly well-known in Tokyo. Why? It’s an unconventional hotel, centrally located, and managed by a lady who knows every nook and cranny in Paris, and is known to be very helpful to her guests.

All this for undecently low rates starting at €49 a night for a double with a shower stall. Yes, no error, that’s €49.

Granted, at this price my youngest hotel isn’t a palace. But it is a fact all rooms have been nicely renovated in fresh and fruity colors, and over the last 2 years it has become much harder to find one available on account of the bang-for-your-buck thing.

Just as unconventional is the breakfast room where our guests stock food, prepare their meals, and share them around one large table. The Hotel du Commerce is definitely not a hostel, but some of its features are just as quaint.

Where is this inexpensive gem located? Bang in the Latin Quarter, 5 minutes away on foot from the drop-dead gorgeous Notre Dame cathedral and the famous St Louis Island, and just 15 minutes away on foot from Saint Germain des Pres. You won’t find a nicer economy hotel in a 30-mile radius.
